Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Skyline Legacy Fund?
The Skyline Legacy Fund is a nonprofit organization established in 2020 to support the long-term success of Skyline High School students through alumni and community contributions.
When was SLF organized?
Origins
The organization was founded in 2020 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit by a committee planning the 50-year reunion for the Skyline High School class of 1970. While their reunion was postponed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the committee took that time to establish the organization’s founding documents and governance structure. They met with representatives from other SHS graduating classes as well as the school administration to propose creating an independent central fund to support initiatives benefiting all alumni, regardless of class year.
Launch
After laying the groundwork in 2020, the Skyline High School Alumni Association officially launched its activities in August 2021 with the belated 50-year reunion of the class of 1970 serving as its inaugural event. From these humble beginnings the Skyline Legacy Fund now serves as a unified platform for all former students to stay connected, give back, and strengthen the enduring legacy of Skyline High.

Funds will accrue and remain in the endowment account at Zions Bank and LPL Financial.
Will any funds be used for community projects outside the school?

How are donations processed?
SLF processes donations through Stripe by credit card or by direct payments mailed to the address of record. All are recorded in the donor record database with Bonterra/Network for Good. Donor receipts will be generated from this database. The database is secure, and the donor information will never be shared with any other entity besides SLF notifications and marketing.
Does SLF accept Venmo or other cash applications?
SLF accepts payment in several forms but not Venmo. Our donation system captures enough donor information to establish a donor record so that receipts, communications, and year-end tax letters can be processed. Security of information captured is paramount.
Will there be donor recognition?
As the final phases of school construction wrap up, a legacy recognition area will be created near the school’s new alumni center. The legacy recognition area will also share the stories and results of the funded awards.
